For Authors

Publishing with the University of Washington Press

The current publishing program of the University of Washington Press includes the core areas of critical ethnic studies; anthropology; art history and visual culture; Asian American studies; Asian studies; environmental history; Native American and Indigenous studies; Scandinavian studies; women’s, gender, and sexuality studies; and US, western, and Pacific Northwest history. Across these core areas, our acquisitions editors seek vital and transformative work with regional, national, and global impact.

In addition to scholarly books, we also publish compelling nonfiction about the Pacific Northwest and beyond, often in partnership with museums, cultural organizations, and Indigenous nations and communities.
